kale salad {improvisation}

This salad was not planned. It happened by accident. My feeling is most innovative wonders happen that way.

It all started with some old strawberries and an idea to make brushetta. I gathered together some tomatoes, chili pepper, limes, and went to work chopping. Added a little salt, a little sugar and once my tomato-strawberry salsa was done I realized I had no bread appropriate for the dish.

Then there was the kale I bought a week ago. Still fresh, but for how long? I chopped it up, added some grated carrots and then thought What the heck. In went the salsa. Then some balsamic vinegar and Voila! Instant salad. Added bonus: it's so pretty.
